About the Site

This site has been created in order to promote the study of costume and textiles and their relation to history and society. It is meant to be an academic journal, much like those in print. Articles can cover a wide array of topics and are fully sourced in order to be useful to researchers and enthusiasts around the world at no cost.

The internet has great potential to spread knowledge and I hope that this site can participate in a small and responsible way. I also hope to provide new scholars and professionals with a means to gain exposure for their work.

This site began as a Masters Thesis project and has since taken on a small life of its own. Readership has increased far beyond my expectations, reaching around five thousands visitors per month (increased from 2,000 the first year)

I hope you enjoy and learn from the articles, I look forward to finding and writing more in the future.

Your friendly editor,

Elizabeth
